Finally, one could see 2019 film Joker.
What a wonderful film! Perfect example of how to develop a story. Story is simple. Cinematography is excellent. Framing too was good but perhaps could have been slightly better for perfection. Music was powerful. Everybody acted well.
Now about Joaquin Phoenix. I had earlier seen him in Gladiator, Mary Magdalene, etcetera where he had shown some signs of intensity in his acting. But Joker is the highlight of his acting career, and in turn, his acting is the highlight of Joker. He has shown his madness, his mental illness, his emotions and overall pathos of the story so subtly without getting loud that it can be considered as an example in film institute acting courses just like how you will choose Marlon Brando’s underplay in Godfather.
The only negative is mob in the movie as well as most likely mob in the audience prescribing Joker’s actions to justify their own crimes. Somewhere that should have been negated in the movie.
This could be a classical example of how a good story, screenplay, presentation, acting and music together can create a magic on the screen, and also how one single performance par excellence can take the actor overnight on the top of the chart.
In the bottom line, must watch, provided you haven’t already!
